This Saturday, December 8th from 10-7. An artist's reception for their current show will be coinciding with the sale from 4-7. Bela Dubby is located at 13321 Madison Ave.(just west of 117th, Lakewood, OH).

CERAMICS & POTTERY COURSE IN CLEVELAND
There will be another basic class beginning Tues Apr 10 as well.
Below is my summer teaching schedule...The Advanced course is also offered for one credit hour through Ashland University.
BASIC CERAMIC TECHNIQUES– Teen & Adult
Instructor: Gina DeSantis
Date: 6 weeks, Mondays, June 18 – July 9 and July 23 - August 6
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This class is designed for those students with little-to-no experience working on the potter’s wheel. Emphasis will be placed on beginning wheel-throwing techniques including wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, and finishing. Techniques for creating handles and surface decoration will also be explored. Class fee includes clay, tools, slab roller, wheels, glazes and firings of several pieces.
Member: $113 Non-Member: $125 MUST REGISTER BY JUNE 11
INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED CERAMICS–Adult
Instructor: Gina DeSantis
Date: 6 weeks, Tuesdays, June 19 – July 10 and July 24 - August 7
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This course is designed for intermediate to advanced potters. Students will learn fundamental and advanced throwing techniques. The class will discuss form and how it affects the function of the vessel. Forms will be created throughout the class both on and off the wheel. It will focus on making unique shapes and forms on the wheel. Students will learn techniques to enhance their thrown forms both on and off the wheel.
Students seeking college credit will be expected to demonstrate knowledge in the terms and techniques covered throughout the class.
Students taking the course for graduate credit are required to complete the following assignment:
The final project will require students to throw 10 tea bowls, tumblers, or mugs based on the wheel thrown methods explored in class. Each tea bowl should represent a different shape or size. No two should be alike. Sketches should be kept to document ideas and forms. The final critique will include a discussion of which forms were successful and how these forms evolved on the wheel.

Empty Bowls 2007
For those of you that know me, you know I love animals. Every year I donate pieces to the Geauga Humane Society/Rescue Village. On March 3, you can attend their annual Empty Bowls Event. Tickets cost $50 or $100. You get a handmade bowl of your choice, soup or chili, bread, and dessert...all you can eat. The food is kindly donated from area restaurants. Proceeds go directly to providing food, shelter, and medical care for the animals in the Rescue Village's care.
This year Robert Bateman (http://www.robertbateman.ca/), a renowned wildlife artist, environmentalist, and naturalist has donated a bowl. You can bid on ebay from Sat, Feb 24 at 8 p.m. until Sat, Mar 3 at 8 p.m. The link is http://givingworks.ebay.com.
