I have spent the evening updating the images on my website's home page, galleries and rearranging the other galleries by date rather than category. Check out the progress at ginadesantisceramics.com.

And enjoy one of my new pieces in the cherry blossom motif!

New work
(to be found on Etsy. listings starting this week)

I spent my Saturday firing the kiln. It was almost 90 degrees out so needless to say I kept out of the studio. I spent my afternoon photographing, cropping, editting and posting to Etsy. More work to come throughout the week. This is my least favorite part of the process. Would rather be making that posting but I'm glad I get to share new work with all of you!

52 Weeks 52 Works
A great way to start off the New Year! I am once again featured in the calendar put out by AGC: The Creative Advantage. Every year they have a call for artists and feature some amazing regional talent. My teapot below is included.

The focus this year is working on some new ideas. I did a lot of shows last year. I'm going to do less this year. I have wanted to make wall pieces for years now but I have never had the time. Due to my inventory I am at a place where I can experiment. I plan to take full advantage of it.

Please check back often and I will try to be a good pottery blogger.

Cheers to a fabulous 2010!

More work that was displayed during the Nov. 7th Open Studio event. Some of these pieces will be at my holidays shows...others only at the Dec. 19th event. I definitely want to explore making more teapots in 2010.

New work posted at Flickr: Your Photostream
I am very excited I can get back to my studio this week and next to throw some new pieces. I haven't made anything since early December. I had been consumed with both preparing for and participating in shows. I have lots of clay waiting and new glazes in transit.

Disorganized Artist Update...
Shows in May...please note the proper date for my show at Local Girl Gallery. I have been extra scatterbrained this month. Each of the following shows will showcase different work. I've working on things for the Local Girl show for awhile. I am excited to share them with you. But I have some goodies for the Pop Shop as well. Lots of new things...

I will be at the Pop Shop on May 17th from 2-9 during the Lakewood Artwalk.

from the local girl webite (http://localgirlgallery.com/146928.html?*session*id*key*=*session*id*val*)
May 24th 6-9pm -Opening Reception
Architectural Renderings

John Mussarra - Pen and ink drawings
Paul G. Jira - Architectural paintings
Gina Desantis - Functional contemporary pottery

John’s distinct pen and ink style is evident in his renderings of local landmarks, popular establishments and some lesser known architectural wonders.

Paul’s unique style of painting uses acrylics, inks, roofing tar and paper towels. His paintings include well known landmarks in Cleveland and Medina. Others are of an industrial nature such as machine operators, collages and machinery.

Gina’s pottery blends the simple use of color and design to create dynamic platters, sushi plates, noodle bowls, mugs and more.

Show runs thru June 13th
